The Department of English, established in 1995, has continuously evolved to meet the changing demands of academia. In 2007, it introduced the Model III Triple Main UG programme, encompassing English Literature, Communication, and Journalism. Building on this foundation, the department launched the MA programme in English Language and Literature in 2013.
In addition to its core curriculum, the department offers valuable add-on courses designed to enhance students’ skills and broaden their academic horizons. These courses provide specialized knowledge in areas such as creative writing, technical communication, and language teaching methodologies.
The department actively encourages students to engage in research and scholarly activities, offering numerous opportunities for paper publication and presentation. Through academic conferences, seminars, and research symposiums organized both within the college and at national or international levels, students can showcase their research findings and contribute to academic discourse in their chosen fields.
